Leader in online demonstration services says that publishers and ISVs targeting medium-sized customers should turn to web-based tools to drive sales.
Gothenburg, Sweden (November 8, 2007) – Runaware, the global leader in online demonstration services, reports that it is now generating around one quarter of its revenues from the European market following a successful 12-month period during which more software publishers and ISVs across the continent deployed TestDrive on their web sites.
The company has invested significantly in business development in Europe over the past year and signed a number of key contracts with leading software companies. This has boosted the share of Runaware’s revenues generated by the European market from around 5 percent to approximately 25 percent – a fivefold increase.
Chief Executive Officer of Runaware, Tim Keyes, states: “The EU region is an increasingly important market for Runaware and we are very pleased with the performance and growth we have achieved over the past year. These have resulted from key strategic investments that we have made in the market. We are continuing to move forward with our plans and believe that the prospects for further growth and development in the European region are very significant fro Runaware. We have only touched the tip of the iceberg.”
Runaware’s TestDrive is available in more than 18 languages so it can be used by software companies to address a wide variety of markets. All major European languages are supported as well as major Asian dialects. The system is used by software developers and ISVs on six continents to make fully-functioning demonstration versions of their packages available online. Web site visitors can run software without having to download any files or wait for CDs to arrive in the post. Keyes says that European software companies have been swift to see the potential that TestDrive has to boost their sales figures.
“In Europe there is a strong awareness of challenges that bureaucratic and language barriers pose to sales development. TestDrive enables software companies to transcend those barriers and reach out into new markets and areas of opportunity. Our European customers have been quick to see the potential and adopt TestDrive as an integral part of their sales process. They are – without exception – seeing very positive results.”
Keyes expects Runaware’s growth in Europe to continue gathering pace throughout 2008. “We are talking to some very exciting prospects and I am confident that our growth in Europe will continue to gain momentum over the coming year. As a result, I would expect to see a further increase in the proportion of our revenues that are generated outside the US market.”
The TestDrive interactive demo environment is used by a number of leading global software companies to provide instant access to full working demonstration versions of popular applications. Customers include Microsoft, FrontRange Solutions, Sage Software and many others. TestDrive enables ISVs and developers to provide a complete version of their software online with no concern for piracy or reliance on the cost and complications of downloads and CDs. Used on its own, or with self-guided tutorials and guided feature tours, TestDrive delivers the best user experience and provides the highest quality leads and improved time to market.
Applications run as if they are installed on the prospect’s own PC or laptop. Suites or add-on applications can be demonstrated in the TestDrive on-line demo, showing the collaboration between multiple applications and effectively up-selling prospects. Links to CRM and sales process can also be made, helping to speed up the sales cycle.
